Providing planning advice to community and Council.
Processing and Assessing Planning Applications.
Administration and enforcement of Glenelg Planning Scheme.
Preparation of planning reports.
Defending Council planning decisions at VCAT.
Providing advice to Council statutory planners.
Undertaking strategic work, e.g. developing Council policies for:
• Guidelines for preparation of land management plans.
• Position Paper on coastal risks to development. [see below]
• Building relationships with other organisations and professional planning consultants.
• Attending planning forums, workshops and seminars
Statutory projects in Glenelg Shire including:
- Assessment of subdivision that led to resolution of VCAT appeals in relation to Convincing Ground [Allestree],
including liaising with Victorian Government Solicitors Office.
- Assessment of new aged care facility in Wellington Road, Portland.
